Ato

PIONEERS BY CONVICTION

Since its founding in 1970, ATO has been an example to be followed concerning the diet of Catalan consumers.

IT IS A DEMANDING COMPANY AND IS COMMITTED TO THE ATTAINMENT OF HIGH-QUALITY PRODUCTS THAT WILL HAVE A POSITIVE IMPACT ON OUR REGION.

WORK WELL DONE

WE HAVE BEEN SPECIALISING IN THE PRODUCTION OF THE FINEST MILK FOR OVER 40 YEARS. WE STRIVE TO IMPROVE EVERY DAY AND TAKE METICULOUS CARE OVER EVERY DETAIL IN OUR PRODUCTION PROCESS, BEING WELL AWARE OF THE IMPORTANCE OF THE WELFARE OF OUR LIVESTOCK.

OUR COWS, OUR IDENTITY

These are our raw material.

Dairy farmers ensure the well-being of their cows, and the mountain climate helps the pastures to flourish and provide the cows with the protein and energy they need for the production of milk.

EACH COW IS UNIQUE

Our cows are Holsteins. They are friendly and sociable animals, as diverse in character and preferences as we ourselves are. They like peace and quiet, routine and eating well.

Our ‘Cow Comfort’ plan makes the welfare of our cows a priority. Every day, the veterinary doctor checks that all of them are healthy and we provide them with sand bedding to help them rest in comfort.
They also have an air-conditioning system with showers and ventilation in summer, and with automatic brushes to scratch them whenever they wish.
They have their hair cut twice a year and have a pedicure service 3 times a year.

SUSTAINABILITY – THE PLEASURES OF THE LAND

We respect the environment by offering products that are prepared using natural, sustainable ingredients.

THEY PROVIDE BENEFITS FOR THE HEALTH OF OUR CONSUMERS AND IMPROVE THEIR QUALITY OF LIFE.

GOOD CLIMATE

The climate at our farms is a mountainous Mediterranean climate, with cold winters and rather cool summers.

GOOD NEWS FOR OUR COWS, AS WET CLIMATES HAVE A POSITIVE IMPACT ON PASTURES AND THE PRODUCTION OF FORAGE.

FROM OUR FARM TO YOUR HOME

04 AM

Every day, before sunrise, our farmers get up to carry out the first of the three daily milkings.

05 AM

They prepare the 100% natural feed, completed with flax seeds.
This way, our cows produce milk with a higher Omega-3 content, which is of great nutritional value and improves the taste. The calves have mother’s milk for breakfast in the stables.

08 AM

The veterinary doctors visit our farms twice a day to check that everything is as it should be.

09 AM

The ATO Natura lorries arrive to collect the milk.
Each milk carrier keeps a record of the litres carried, in order to guarantee traceability from the milk’s origin.

04 PM

The farmers clean out the milking parlours and the stables.
They check that the livestock have clean water and inspect the condition of pregnant cows.

08 PM

Night falls and it’s time to make their final check.
The working day of a farmer is 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It’s actually more a way of life.
